About the Book
Standing in My Truth is a courageous and deeply personal account of one woman’s journey through love, motherhood, and the harsh realities of racial hate in America. Born into a white, middle-class family in the Midwest, Julie Beth never imagined that her marriage to a Black man and their life together in Cleveland would expose her to the painful depths of racism and discrimination.
In this eye-opening memoir, Julie shares her lived experiences—raising interracial children in a hostile environment, confronting systemic prejudice, and finding her voice as an ally in the fight for racial justice. With raw honesty, she recounts the struggles her family faced, the impact of racial hate on their daily lives, and the steps she took to challenge injustice within her community.
In the wake of George Floyd’s murder, as the world called on white allies to speak out, Julie realized the power of her own story. Through her personal reflections, she issues a heartfelt plea for awareness, action, and change. Standing in My Truth is both a memoir and a call to dismantle racism—one conversation, one relationship, and one courageous act at a time.
Perfect for readers seeking an honest, firsthand perspective on race, privilege, and allyship, this book is a must-read for those committed to understanding and fighting against hate in all its forms.

If you root yourself in love and kindness your heart will always bloom.
